Great to have you on Xttrawave. Please, introduce yourself.

My name is Zigg TheArtist, I am a artist from Philadelphia. I’ve been officially on the music scene since 2012 and it’s been up from there. I also sing, produce, engineer, write for myself as well as other artist. Pretty much in a nutshell, anything musically I can do .

What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?

My grandma first introduced me to the piano, I played classical music from a young age. My first love was football but music always was there. Once I realized music was my escape from the stresses of the outside world it was therapeutic at first. I started to realize I was real good at it once people start singing my songs, even when I wasn’t that good yet. I been on the grind ever since

Tell us about your new music? And what’s the story behind it?

My newest album “Toxic” is out now on all platforms . Right now approaching 200k streams which is truly a blessing.. This Album is based on a true story with me and my ex at the time. This Album just shows everything that goes on relationships, the good the bad, the insecurities, the happy, the sad. This touches everything, and we are actually working on a featured film for this project as well

What makes your music unique? How would you describe it?

My music is unique because I mix a lot of genres together, I am not just a rapper, I sing as well and produce so it’s a mix of everything . If I can categorize my style it would be more so “melodic rap”

Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?

My biggest influence musically is Lil Wayne & Kanye West. One Day I hope to work with them as well as Tory Lanez, that guy is on a different level musically, I’m more of a versatility guy . I don’t like music sounding the same each track

Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?

My best moment musically was performing in Toronto, the show was sold out !! Even though I never performed there before, this city welcomed me with open arms. A lot of love from the 6 man. On top of that just performing in a whole different country was surreal. After the show we hit the city ! It’s been history ever since

How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?

It’s the hardest part about being a artist, I think I do a real good job at balancing now, it was t always that way. My trick is to take it one day at a time, take out days where I need to handle things and spend family time with my girl and my son. Then the other days I focus solely on music. I think the hardest part is leaving and going on tour for a period of time, but with technology now I can always FaceTime the fam.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

My best advice is to be true to yourself, make the music you love to make but be truthful, everything will fall into place from there. It doesn’t happen overnight

If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?

Thank you for all the support, thank you for coming to my shows and buying tickets, thank you for streaming my music. I am forever thankful and I got some more heat on the way !

What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?

Right now I’m working on a featured film which is extended from my album “Toxic” the film will be called “2 Toxic” and it will be accompanied by a soundtrack as well with all new music
