Yungblud teases next era as he returns to social media with new look: “Hello”

Yungblud has teased a new era by returning to social media with a new look.

It comes as the singer – real name Dom Harrison – has taken a step back from social media in recent months, and has now posted his first new update.

For the new post, Yungblud has deleted all of his past posts on his Instagram page, and shared a new photo that sees him sporting a new look. It shows him standing topless in front of a wall of Marshall speakers and holding a microphone, while the caption simply reads: “Hello”.

His bio on the page now reads the same, and the only other thing listed is a link to his website which gives fans the option to sign up for updates.

It isn’t yet clear what Yungblud is hinting at with the post, although it does seem to indicate that a new announcement is on the way – potentially for new music or new tour dates. Check out the update below.

The hints at a new era for Yungblud come after he looked back at the milestones he had last September, and told fans on Facebook that he was looking forward to building an adventure” with his upcoming projects.

“I’m allowing myself to go to places I’ve never been to before, and dreamin really, really big. It’s igniting my imagination and lighting up my soul,” he said in the update, also announcing that he would be taking a break from social media.

In December, he then spoke to NME to share more details about the projects in the works – exclusively announcing that he had a “double album” on the way.

“The new album centres around the idea of self-love and self-reclamation that allows people to feel seen, and emit this light. You can be seen for who you truly are, no matter where you’re from or what you believe… That’s what I needed to write an album about,” he said.

“A lot of people have had a lot of opinions about me, and I would lie to you when I said I wouldn’t give a fuck. But for the first time in my life, I think I’m starting to actually like myself. I’ve always written from a period of hatred towards myself. I made a fucking rock opera double album that has no limitations towards imagination,” he added.

“Yeah, you got the fucking scoop on that. It looks like it’s going to be a double album.”

He would also go on to discuss the second instalment of his own festival, Bludfest, which will take place this summer and see appearances from Chase Atlantic, Denzel Curry, Blackbear and former NME Cover stars Rachel Chinouriri and Peach PRC.

“I think we have a crazy line-up that’s inclusive, genre-defiant – again – but it’s got the same fucking feeling,” he said. “It’s got the same energy. When I look at the poster, that makes sense. It feels [like a] new generation, it feels young and exciting.”
