Black Whole is a collaborative musical project of five seasoned and diversely talented musicians and composers led by the pianist Walter Kemp 3. And what a live performance that is in “De Facto”; good God, is it just perfection? I mean, you get to revel in every bit of performance as each and every member of the group delivers their piece; it is just so surreal, and they are in perfect sync to fashion something indescribably beautiful and moving.
A blissful concoction of the colorful violin by the phenomenal Scott Tixier, the ever-present flute and clarinet, the fiercely hit drums, the lovingly laid sax, and not forgetting the thoughtfully hit piano and that electric and upright bass complete this exceptional performance that is brimming with both sonic elegance and crystal clear polish.
“De Facto” is over 5 minutes long, but it doesn’t feel like it, which is a testament to its greatness.
If you want to feel inspired and transported to places beyond your imagination, “De Facto” is an excellent place to begin. This awe-inspiring showmanship is guaranteed to fuel your creativity and imagination.
“De Facto” is the debut masterclass, and I am just hoping that it is the first of many more masterpieces of this nature to come. The world could use this kind of music…you could use this type of composition.
