Presave Album: SirW – L1 R1

Toronto, Ontario, Release Date: September 3, 2021

SirW announces the launch of his music career, by bringing a new erratic sound to Hip-Hop with the release of his self-produced album, L1 R1. The forthcoming record is set to be released on September 3, 2021.

Along with the album announcement, this month also marks the pre-release of the exclusively via Soundcloud. SirW is currently producing a solo album, the release date for which has not yet been set.

SirW recorded most of L1 R1 in an apartment studio in Toronto, Ontario in collaboration with local artist BigLu91. SirW has worked with BigLu91 for some number of years building his craft. SirW has plans to release numerous small projects in the months following the release of L1 R1. He wants to build a strong fan base and to give them a lot of options to pick and choose from.

L1 R1 is composed of 7 tracks that SirW recorded and spans over “-Cool, (but) hella weird” (-Afromerican Project Rep), songs like Pass Da Controlla to the idiosyncratic  Rahgablahga, an electric bass-heavy track with a driving force reminiscent of Tyler the Creator.

With the track Pass Da Controlla, it’s clear to see what he is aiming to accomplish, “Really, everyone above a certain level thinks this is Trash, everyone else below it thinks its ‘Fire’. All that can, and should, be said about this project is that it’s different. I put in some effort to make this, so use some effort to listen. Please.”

While each song varies in tone, they all are originals and circle back to one c enteral theme. “Hit Play. Press start. Get ready!”, a call to action that can be echoed anywhere by gamers alike, a sentiment that SirW can champion.

Like many before him, SirW pursues a career in Toronto’s music Industry. He’s still quite new to collaborations but looks forward to making connections and great music. And while he’s often labelled with some form of the word ‘demon’ (some have even compared his voice to an actual demon), SirW’s style meets at a juncture of many different genres. There’s something about SirW that is indescribably different — and with his newest project, he’s discovered something — the place where artistically driven music meets high-action gameplay.
