Great to have you on Xttrawave. Please, introduce yourself.

My name is Siraaj Yung. I’m from Atlanta, GA My artist name is actually my real name with my last name spelled a little differently and Siraaj means the light in  arabic.

What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?

When I was in high school I used to freestyle all around the school and it was pretty cool to see people react in real time.

I also used to always have an attachment to melodies since a kid so I just learned how to express myself through music.

Tell us about your new music? And what’s the story behind it?

My new single that’s dropping is called “Together”. It’s really a song I made after getting my mind clear of a bad situation I was in at the time. The song gives me a feeling of victory or the  success you feel when you accomplish a goal.

What makes your music unique? How would you describe it?

I would describe my music as hip hop with pop elements but I also make music based on how I feel so I switch sub genres and narratives a lot.

Who are your biggest music influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?

My main musical influences are really the whole south. We have a crazy music scene in Atlanta. A lot of different artists come up from here every year but my main 4 favorite artists are J Cole, Young Thug, Gunna, and Isaiah Rashad.

Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?

My biggest moments of my musical career that I’m proud of one would be my headline show that was a dope experience and my masquerade show was dope. I also had a cool experience with my project 30349. It opened a lot of doors for me.

How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?

I balance music with my personal life decently now I think with me it was about time management and knowing how to separate the two lives.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

My advice to aspiring is to try to be consistent and find ways to keep it fun and entertaining so you keep your passion alive.

I have a few more singles left to build up buzz for my project named 4900. It drops in April.
