‘Roblox’ viral hit ‘Grow A Garden’ to make major changes

The creator of Roblox viral hit Grow A Garden has apologised for a number of “reptitive” updates and promised a “new era” is imminent.
Roblox experience Grow A Garden has taken the gaming world by storm, with millions of people logging on every day to tend to their virtual garden, buy seeds and sell crops.
During one weekend in June, more than 16million people were playing Grow A Garden concurrently which is higher than Fortnite’s biggest ever weekend. In the months since, the game has gone from strength to strength (215million people logged on yesterday, August 11 according to RoMonitor).
Its popularity is helped by weekly updates, which add new crops and tools added to the game alongside pets and limited-time events. However recently, some players have started to complain about the lack of variety in these updates.
Taking to the official Discord, creator Jandel addressed the criticisms (via PC Gamer). “I am sure everyone has felt like the last few weekly events have felt a bit repetitive, and same-same,” they explained. “What we ultimately decided was that weekly events were just too hard to keep fresh and new. So I have decided that a new era of Grow A Garden is needed. The general idea is we will be adding more depth into the player farms.”
Grow a Garden is entering the Method Era.
Weekly events have been fun, but keeping them fresh every week was becoming difficult. We’re shifting focus to adding more depth into farms moving forward.
We will still continue to do the events in the middle, but they won’t be the…

Their suggestions for how to add that depth to Grow A Garden include “an incubator you can place down that increases egg hatching speed, fertiliser that you can put on a plant to make it rainbow for a certain number of hours, a garden encyclopaedia that shows all your fruits stats (like heaviest grown fruit etc etc) and challenge modes (like 24hours to grow the best fruit).” They also want to make cooking a permanent feature of the game.
“I really feel like the golden days of Grow A Garden was when we were adding cool features like pets, crafting and cosmetics,” they continued.
These new updates will take a few weeks to be introduced into the game though, with developers also asking for suggestions from fans. “I hope the community can see this change as a positive attempt at us to keep the game fresh and enjoyable for everyone,” Jandel added. “Thanks again for supporting us, we will always strive to keep this game number one.”
In other news, BioShock boss Strauss Zelnick has promised that the long-awaited BioShock 4 definitely hasn’t been cancelled despite reports of an “overhaul” and fears about further staff lay-offs.
