Nola B Really “Wanna Feel Ya”
My name is Collis Foster and my stage name is Nola B. I’m from New Orleans, LA.
I’m a music and video producer. I also market music as well as manage upcoming artist throughout the country. I been in the industry for 11 years. I started in the Navy and created HighCouncil Recordings my sophomore year at Houston University. I wanted to create a music paradigm that helps new artist understand the music industry and also give knowledge to best help the music professionals reach their pinnacle.
My biggest accomplishment is producing my own shows and content. I’m the producer of #PlatinumPullUp, its a show (like BET’s 106 And Park) except our focus is on interviewing upcoming artists as well as entrepreneurs even politicians. We pull up and interview on the spot and get an authentic interview experience because of its “off guard” concept.
We have some really exciting things coming this upcoming year. I have a single dropping Dec 2 on all platforms called “Wanna Feel Ya” its a track about the fictional world we live in and my want and need to feel something worthwhile. We also have season 2 of #PlatinumPullUp airing Nov 25 which will feature artists and music professionals at a music conference called Cutting Edge Music Conference in New Orleans, LA. Finally, we have “NolaBoys 2” which is a mixtape series hosted by DJ Platinum that showcases local artists music.
I think covid effected everyone in a negative sense. A lot of us in the industry had to find other ways to make a living being as we shut down and others completely faced a mountain of health issues. I personally was diagnosis with cancer in February of 2020 so I had a particularly difficult time. I had to not just battle covid but also cancer and chemo therapy at the trying time.
My next move is to continue to build Highcouncil Recordings to be a premiere record label in this new music industry terrain. Since the drastic change to the industry in 2004 (cds went away) I began to create and formulate new and exciting ways to sell artists as well as use technology to further advance this new concept of the music business. I’m working on several projects such as television shows for artists as well as key merchandising opportunities for my clients.
I’m working on my solo artist project called Book Of Nola 3 which is the 3rd installment of my album series. I produce, mix, master, and market Book Of Nola because its my favorite subject matter to engage in. Its all me and my thoughts and how I hear the music in my head. Plus I’m a really good rapper myself. I see myself maturing and becoming a solid player in the industry. In the next year I want to have a top 40 single as well has a top 10 artist. We are currently working on our marketing reach and creating content to put us in the marketplace as solid record label with real knowledge and relationships to help our artist thrive in the music industry.
I was recently named the CEO of Rome Empire Music Group. Its a new label based out of Baton Rouge, LA. Its a new and exciting experience for me because I’ve always ran my own company but now I’ve been given the opportunity to manage another. Now ?I not only run my own company but someone else’s. I really appreciate the faith and support.
