n.e.r.d. life by D’Vo “You Don’t Have to See Me to Feel Me”
n.e.r.d. life by D’Vo is a Christian Hip Hop and Soul artist from Houston, TX. He is the voice of Global Rhythm and the Owner of the label, Element 11. Within the past year, he has released a Christian Hip-Hop series called The Codex.
D’Vo is a different breed of artistry as he chooses to remain anonymous while giving listeners a creative experience of hip-hop with down south soul, jazz, rap with modulated voices, and chopped & screwed. His futuristic sound has earned him four top-charting songs, two of which received plaques for being a top ten song, Swagger From My Father and Elavated Thinking.
“My art is to serve God. I don’t create music for personal reasons such as fortune or fame. I do it almost as a covenant with our amazing Heavenly Father. Every song that I create is for His purpose, every underlining hook, although it may have hidden metaphors, it is really about God and Heaven.
We are in a world where people idolize the wrong things, the messenger, and not the message, especially today where people are so comfortable with seeing as believing. We see someone that has the look, we rock with them. If someone has the swag, we think it’s cool to idolize them, but we are focused on the creation. But for me as an Artist, this is different, this is about eternal life and salvation, and making sure we are successful spiritually, and no human, can take credit for that.”
D’Vo proves himself versatile as the lead singer in his band, Global Rhythm, a soul fusion and funk band consisting of four talented artists from around the world. Their mix of authentic instruments, soulful vocals, and funky beats will make you want to swing dance on Beale Street in Downtown Memphis.
The bandmates of Global Rhythm had their appearance on D’Vo’s first album, The Codex: I’ve Got Next, in the song One Love as well as his second album, The Codex: Running the Point, on Me and My Friends. D’Vo and his band, Global Rhythm are always perfecting the latest jazzy beat as D’Vo works on his upcoming albums to join The Codex as a series.
