Music Interview: Grind delves on his creative tastes, being inspired by J. Cole & new album “No Stranger 2 Struggle”
Great to have you on Xttrawave. Please, introduce yourself.
I go by Grind because where I’m from that’s what I’m known for hustling been on the grind since I was 14 yrs old. I’m from Beaumont Texas
What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?
I had a story to tell and rap was my way to get it heard
Tell us about your new music? And what’s the story behind it?
My new Album No Stranger 2 Struggle is my life in a nutshell. If you like a good story and you want to know about me the person listen to my new Album the struggle overcoming it real life problems and real life triumphs
What makes your music unique? How would you describe it?
I don’t believe I fit into a genre I like to make good music. My music is unique because I have my own style and sound I don’t try to imitate what’s hot right now or who’s hot I do me in the booth. It’s not rap it’s my real life I just know how to rhyme while I tell it.
Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?
I typically don’t let what others are doing influence me but if it is one artist I would want to work with it would be j cole
Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?
My first album in general I jumped out there with nothing knowing nothing took a chance on myself and put together what turned out to be an astounding project
How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?
My music is my life I don’t have to balance it because what I rap is real
What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
Go for it and take a chance on yourself be you do you stay true
