Introduce yourself. What does your name mean?
Kief Knifing… it’s a cannabis reference.
What got you into music?
Growing up, we had an old player piano that I’d always pluck single strings to get sharp ugly tones. We had a right hand guitar and I was left handed so I learned to play the fretboard upside down… literally. It was a nasty tone. The point is, I’ve always liked making weird noises.
Tell us about the new music?
Writing this was a great departure from previous productions. More symphonic with presentation, overlapping time signatures, synth guitar sweeps, sliding particle delays, Coda’s, refrains.
It’s a triple record.
Describe music and what makes it unique? Genre… describe it.
This Music is great, Thought provoking. It’s been considered a modern Electronic Classic. OK, I lied, I made that last part up.
Biggest influences, who would I work with? I think everything you hear, scratching space heater fans, tapping glass.. the sound of a ferry boat traveling from Boston to Salem, apply as being influential to me.
People who I would work with? Let’s be honest, if you think you can add to this craziness I make, I would celebrate it. I have always had artist crush on the works of Alice Glass.
Biggest moment in my musical career.

How do you balance music with life? Set hours for life and obsessiveness.
What advice do you give to new musicians? Create what you want, whenever you want and you won’t be at a loss.
One message to fans, what would it be? Track four is a game. Go to YouTube and look up Ulay moma 2010. Like, “The Darkside of OZ”, they sync.
