GASP Interview & new album “Chill Forest Mix”

GASP-2

Great to have you on Xttrawave Please introduce yourself.

Hello my name is GASP, it Stands for Going Against Standard procedure or being different than the fluff that we see all see everyday and a guide to being your true self, happy and healthy. I’m currently based in Tampa, born in Arkansas.

What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?

So growing up I won many awards in band and jazz band. even filling in for college bands when I was 16. So I grew up in a very poor state and town, so in seeing this I chose nuclear technology as my working path. Only to realize 7 years later that I was working my life away and I was wasting my talents, which are immense.

Tell us about your new music? And what’s the story behind it?

My latest album Chill Forest Mix is a 27 minute mix designed to be a sort of “Trip Sitter” for psychedelic users and avid cannabis users as each song tells a different story, only the last two tracks have vocals and all sounds that I made.

What makes your music unique? How would you describe it?

I know this a generic question and my music speaks for itself on that haha, but its very complex and elaborate. As for live performances I play guitars and pianos live while I DJ.

GASP-3

Who are your biggest music influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?

Victor Wooten the bass player, Flume, and Apashe both inspired me to push my limits as well.

Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?

Probably Djing in Washington DC and club Soundbar. That was a blast.

How do you balance your music with other obligations – family. friends or work?

I balance it well, at least for now most of my time is producing so I ‘m at home doing what I love.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

Realize if you’re really talented and don’t give into peer pressure and waste 7 years just working for a pay check. Go forth, make music. and live a legacy.

If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?

Good vibrations are spread both interpersonally and through music. Spread both and you’ll build
lasting relationships which we all need at this point in time.

What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?

So this project will melt the internet. Its my GREAT GASP album featuring a couple rising star collabs and massive dance drops. I’m taking my time with this one and bringing all kinds of new sounds. I can’t wait to play live. Thank you.
