‘Dune Part Two’ popcorn bucket going for hundreds of pounds on eBay a year on from release

The viral popcorn Dune: Part Two buckets are still going for hundreds of pounds, a year after the film’s release.
Last year, the promotional popcorn bucket, which is based on the film’s sandworm creatures drew a wide range of reactions online, from jokes to outright disgust because of its resemblance to a sex toy.
While promotional popcorn buckets are nothing new, the reaction to this one meant that other films released similar tie-ins, including a suggestive design for Deadpool & Wolverine.
Despite that, the buckets are still currently being auctioned off on eBay for nearly £250.

It comes after Timothée Chalamet recently admitted that he keeps one under his bed.
In an interview posted by the social media account for Australian radio station Triple J, the promotional popcorn bucket – featuring a lid shaped like a sandworm – was shown to Chalamet during promotion for his recent Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown.
Co-star Elle Fanning said to Chalamet during the interview: “You told me you have one of those, right?”, to which he replied: “Yeah, I keep mine under my bed”, adding that: “They’re going to blur that out when you pull that up, that’s like an explicit thing”, jokingly alluding to online comments that the popcorn bucket looked rude.
The interview ended with a question about what a promotional popcorn bucket would look like for A Complete Unknown. “It’d be the guitar hole” the actor replied with a grin.
Elsewhere, it was recently reported that filming on the third part of Dune would begin this year, with pre-production aiming for a late summer start.
No official confirmation of filming or a release date has come from studios Warner Bros and Legendary, who declined to comment on the report.
