“Thankyou for leaving me” is an energetic punchy rock song by Cloe Givelin. As the track starts with riffs over grandiose rock instrumentation and flares of pedal-drenched guitars, the musical tone of the song is set before it turns into a vocal masterclass.

The song peaks when Cloe carries a captivating chorus with her powerful voice, as she gets the most intense feelings of heartbreak out of the way. She’s more than ready to let go.  She takes her advice to heart by saying ‘Thank you’, and then toggles between moments of resilience, acceptance, and hope for the future, no matter how uncertain it may be.

By the end of the song, she comes as close as anyone possibly can to answering why she feels the way she does when it comes to love. But she, like everyone else, owns up to the fact that it’s a fool’s errand to understand how love works.
