Chris Twist unveils new EP “Against Gods”

I had a catastrophic traumatic brain injury seven years ago (TBI). Every single skill I currently possess was something I had to relearn from scratch, including the English language (aphasia). Slowly, I am relearning old skills I used to have as well as learning new abilities that I never had.

I’ve worked hard over the years to become a skilled resume writer. I really like what I do since I am a little part of someone else’s success and improvement. I also had to learn how to record, mix, and play the guitar and synthesizer all over again. My favorite aspect of performing and recording any song is the mixing. I like the intricate and technical aspects of mixing.

Most of my songs, including “Bipolar,” are often extremely logical. There, I discuss the nature of bipolar, how it affects people, the issue with this way of thinking, and how I now apply “logic, reality, and facts” to recognize manic ideas so that I can decide whether to act on them. “Against Gods,” the new EP, is considerably more intimate. This EP isn’t about regulating or controlling certain aspects of myself; rather, it’s about how I feel about the world around me.

I had no memories of my life or the world for the first several years after my TBI. I had to reacquaint myself with governments, towns, conflicts, and what the concept of a God meant to various cultures. I never felt comfortable connecting with someone who may or might not be there for me. I also detested the notion of letting go of the self-control I had fought so hard to achieve.

I want to be able to claim that I did something good or bad, that I am not simply a role in some God’s narrative. If it’s just me, I can handle matters. If there is a God, he/she/it has not aided us. God has seen the world ruin itself, which is wonderful since it gives God the power and attention he/she/it desires.

People’s innermost ideas are nothing healthy or even constructive; instead, they are destroying the Earth because of their intense hatred for one another. If people are still living in 100 years, whether or not there is a God, I will be astounded. It doesn’t really matter if God is real or not. We are still harming ourselves and the environment because of him/her/it.

I know that this is a very nihilist thought. I know that it is something I need to work on.
