A Boost for UK Lofi Hip-Hop: Confidential Set to Release New Album ‘The Search For’ on February 11

Following the strong reception to his third album, 2020’s Memories, UK-based lofi hip-hop artist Confidential has officially announced a release date for his new album, The Search for: February 11.
Coming to all major online streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube, Confidential’s latest effort promises to build on the brilliant creativity and eclectic influences shown on previous projects. Furthermore, the album is set to feature a whopping 35 tracks: arguably the longest album from a solo artist in the lofi genre.
It’s almost unheard of for a lofi artist to feature their face on the cover of their album, but Confidential feels showing himself adds to the relatability of his music:
“My music is almost always about my own life, whether it be struggles with depression, regrettable decisions, or even just my experiences. I felt that if people are listening to an audio representation of my life, having a face to go with the story might help with interpretation.”
After generating over 200,000 Spotify streams in 139 countries in 2021, his first full year as an artist, Confidential has established himself as one of the leading producers in the UK lofi hip-hop movement. This fast-growing success, along with being open about his identity, has led Confidential to being named “the live action face of lofi hip-hop” (Planet Singer).
