D4vd is “fully cooperating” with police after a dead body was found in a Tesla registered in his name.

On Monday (September 8), officers responded to a report of a foul odour coming from an impounded vehicle at a tow yard in Hollywood, Los Angeles. According to police, the car had been there for a couple of days, and the body was discovered inside a bag in the front boot.

There was initially no information about the identity of the deceased because of the level of decomposition. It has since been confirmed that the body is that of a woman (via Los Angeles Times).

The Tesla was registered in Hempstead, Texas, to D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke. The NYC singer-songwriter, who is currently on tour in the US, played a show in Minneapolis, Minnesota last night (September 9).

In a statement, a spokesperson for Butke said he “has been informed about what’s happened, and although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities”, per NBC News.

According to police sources, the Tesla had been towed from the Bird Streets neighbourhood in the Hollywood Hills after being abandoned five days prior.

The body of another woman was found partially burned inside a Honda Civic at a different tow yard in Los Angeles. However, this incident is said to be related to a missing person report, and is considered by police to be a separate case.

The Hollywood Hills case has been classified as a death investigation, said LAPD officer Charles Miller.

D4vd posted on Instagram on Monday (September 8) to announce the release of a deluxe version of his debut album ‘Withered’, titled ‘Marcescence’. He has also been active on Instagram Stories this week, sharing a photo of himself with fellow singer-songwriter Malcolm Todd.
