The announcement comes as the singer has been teasing a new release over recent weeks, and going on to drop various hints on social media.

One of the latest was a link to pre-save a new release on Spotify and Apple Music, which she posted on her Instagram bio. At the time, few details were shared about what the upcoming project was.

Now, Grande has confirmed that the link was to pre-order a forthcoming deluxe edition of her latest album ‘Eternal Sunshine’. She shared the news with a new photo on social media, alongside the caption: “eternal sunshine deluxe ♡ 📦 3.28” – indicating that it is set for release on March 28.

As well as the link on her Instagram bio last week, the pop star also shared a brief and cryptic video which included objects from the video for ‘We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)’ video, including a teddy bear, engulfed in a fiery blaze.

She also hinted that the release of a deluxe version of her seventh album was imminent on the Oscars red carpet, saying “It must come out”.

“Soon means 10 days or less,” she said. “I’m not allowed to use this word at the moment. I’m not going to use that word today. I’ll say that.”

Hopes for the deluxe edition have been around since the start of the new year too, as Grande revealed the first hints at the Golden Globes.

It isn’t yet clear exactly what the expanded version of ‘Eternal Sunshine’ – officially called ‘Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead’ – will include, but it will be arriving just over a year after the original version was shared in 2024. Visit here to pre-save.

In a four-star review of the record, Nick Levine wrote for NME: “On the one hand, ‘Eternal Sunshine’ is a spacey but relatable break-up album defined by its emotional maturity. ‘We both know I couldn’t change you – I guess you could say the same,’ she sings on the title track.

“On the other, it’s the most sophisticated project yet from a preternaturally talented vocalist who keeps getting better. Whatever you take away from it, ‘Eternal Sunshine’ definitely isn’t an album you’ll want to wipe from memory.”
