Christine Greyson’s Upcoming EP, “Hypnodirt”: An Industrial and Ethno-Electronic Fusion Inspired By A Spiritual Journey

Christine Greyson’s next EP, “Hypnodirt,” will be a marvelous combination of Industrial and Ethno-electronic sounds. The record will feature five to six songs influenced by legendary acts like Hooverphonic, Mazzy Star, and The Cranes. The EP will also contain a remix of Greyson’s debut song, “Spider,” and the avant-garde electronic track “Butcher Girl.”
A compelling story goes along with this engaging EP. Greyson’s spiritual enlightenment while living in nature, remote from the city, inspired the EP’s songs. Although no narcotics were used, the artist’s lone trek through the woods to confront her wild epiphanies was fueled by alcohol. Listeners are bound to connect with this unusual journey, making “Hypnodirt” a beautiful album in April.
Growing up in the southern Appalachians, Christine Greyson was surrounded by an array of musical influences, ranging from industrial, metal, darkwave, and eerie folk. These traditional folk ballads have had a lasting impact on her music writing. She has composed one folk tune in a classic style, but most of her composition is electronic-based.
