South Coast Melodic Rock Outfit Capulus Announce New Single ‘The Crowd’

Originally formed in 2013 by two school friends, Bournemouth quartet CAPULUS are set to make their bid for the melodic rock throne in 2022 This process begins now, as the band welcome the release of their fist pumping standalone single, ‘The Crowd’.
Available to stream and download now, ‘The Crowd’ conjures an energetic rock epic of powerful, hooky vocal melodies paired with stadium-quality instrumentation – a combination that will undoubtedly call to mind the likes of Foo Fighters, Mammoth and Alter Bridge. It also marks the first single from the young quartet, following the release of their debut EP ‘We Are What You Made Us’, which came out late last year.
Best described as story-tellers, Capulus seek to invoke a variety of emotions painted with both personal experience and observations of the world around them. Recorded at ‘The Ranch’ in Southampton, ‘The Crowd’ follows an individual hell-bent on seeking fame through the use of various social media platforms, with little to no success.
“The song is written from an external perspective, following somebody through their attempts at making video shorts in the hope of finding stardom”, says Vaughan on the band’s latest single. “As the song progresses, we learn that the individual has dropped everything from their home life to move to California, in the hope that they can pursue this dream. All of which is falling back on a lack of skills or talent”.
“We wanted to write a track that had an upbeat energy throughout”, continues Riley, detailing the creative process behind their track. “The song itself was born relatively quickly – with the main riff coming from a quick jam at a band practice. It was a really exciting process for this track – as each of the pieces seemed to naturally fall into place, one after the other”.
Capulus’ latest single ‘The Crowd’ is available to stream and download now via all streaming platforms. With a music video to be released later this month.
