DJ Premier Announces New EP ‘Hip Hop 50 Volume 1’ featuring Nas, Run The Jewels and More
DJ Premier Eminem shared details of his new new EP called Hip Hop 50: Vol 1 to be released on July 15, 2022. The five track EP will feature music from hip hop legends such as Nas, Run the Jewels, Joey Bada$$, Remy Ma, Rapsody, Lil Wayne, and Slick Rick.

Hip Hop 50: Vol 1 is part of Mass Appeal’s 50th celebration of the hip-hop genre, said to have begun in 1973 in the Bronx, New York. It’s the first of 10 EPs in the series, which will feature additional contributions from Swizz Beatz, Mustard, The-Dream, Mike Will Made It, No I.D., Hit-Boy, Take a Daytrip, and Tainy. Eventually, Mass Appeal plans to release Hip Hop 50: The Soundtrack.
This comes after Dj Premier posted a video featuring a brand new snippet of Nas rapping over a beat from the legendary producer. The clip begins with Premier giving viewers a glimpse of the plaque he earned from his work on Nas’ debut Illmatic, which is hanging on the wall at the producer’s home turf of Kaufman Astoria Studios in Long Island City, before panning over to “Control Room B.”

DJ Premier produced a handful of tracks on Nas’ 1994 landmark debut Illmatic including “N.Y. State of Mind,” “Represent,” and “Memory Lane (Sittin’ in da Park)”.
