Rukke (pronounced Rookie), is a new flavor in the realm of rising independent artists. The SoCal native teamed up with vibrant filipino artist & producer Bryan Halo for his debut, “Speedline”, which arrived onto streaming services Friday May 13th. The song, recorded during the first months of mask-less life in LA, materialized very naturally. Inside Halo’s smoked-up Hollywood studio, the two crafted a watery, comfortably-complex track that melds acoustic guitar, synths, UK garage, and softboi vibes all into one. Cool down, immerse your auditory cortex and listen to the song for yourself here now.

Rukke shares how “Speedline” was created: “I was sitting on the couch in Bryan’s studio, bobbing my head to a beat he had started about 15 minutes earlier. Every new sound he added inspired me more & more. I just started freestyle singing on top, just to see what I could come up with. I wrote the melody and most of the lyrics in practically one go, and upon tweaking a few gibberish words, it was finished.” While the track utilizes acoustic guitars, UK garage drums, and a few synths, Rukke’s favorite element: the harps. “If you listen closely, you can hear the harps come in at different parts. They just sound so watery, makes me feel like I’m swimming in a pool.”, he says. Currently operating in LA, this artist is in the midst of various projects. “Speedline” is the first release from Rukke, be sure to be on the lookout for more Rukke projects this year.

“Speedline” Available to stream on major streaming services May 13th, 2022.
