Anytroops on his creative tastes & new music

Anytroops-2

Great to have you on Xttrawave. Please, introduce yourself.

Hi, my name is Anytroops, or Sean if you actually know me, and I’m a 16-year-old producer from New Jersey. I’ve been producing all types of music, especially EDM and pop, for the last 4 years and recently just passed 250 thousand streams on Spotify.

What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?

I’ve always been into music ever since a young age, starting with learning instruments such as the piano, guitar, and trumpet. But my first experience with actual production came when I was trying to make a remix of Drake’s “In My Feelings”. Ever since then, music production has kinda just become second nature to me, and hopefully in the future I can do it full time.

Tell us about your new music? And what’s the story behind it?

My most recent release is my official remix of “S.I.M.P.” with Kylesimps. I originally heard this song shortly after it blew up on TikTok and I just thought that it could sound really good as an EDM song. So after reaching out to him via Instagram, I started working on it with him and soon released it towards the latter half of the summer.

What makes your music unique? How would you describe it?

I think personally the thing that makes my music the most unique is the blend of styles and my remixes of songs from completely different genres. Currently, my music is primarily what I would consider future bass, but with elements from pop, trap, hip-hop, tropical house, and kawaii bass. I also listen to a lot of different genres of music, like my Spotify wrapped from this year consists of rap, r&b, EDM, pop and a lot of other stuff, so I am constantly taking in new ideas to add to my music.

Who are your biggest music influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?

I actually have a lot of influences when it comes to music. Some of the bigger ones that I can think of are Marshmello and Martin Garrix, cause they were artists that I listened to a lot when I was younger and definitely inspire my style as well. But like also more recently I’ve been listening to a lot more chill music from people like Niki, Keshi and other Asian-American Chill R&B type artists, so those are definitely some inspirations as well. In terms of collaborations in the future, one artist that I definitely would want to work with is Tiffany Day. She’s actually an artist that one of my friends recently introduced me to, and I really like all of her work. She also has a wide variety of songs from different genres so I feel like she would fit really well on one of my tracks.

Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?

I think out of all moments so far in my musical “career”, I would say that getting over 250k streams on my song “Flamingo”, is the one that I’m the proudest of. I made this song originally at the end of summer, and due to the entire theme of the song, I thought it might not do that well and that I released it too late. But it actually turned out to be a huge success, still being my only song with over 100k plays on Spotify to this day.

How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?

Honestly, I just think that planning out my day a little bit ahead of time makes everything a lot easier to manage and balance. The biggest part is definitely keeping my circle of friends and people I talk to relatively small so that I have more time to focus on my music.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

I know this sounds like really generic because I feel like everyone says this. But actually, just keep on doing what you’re doing, and if you genuinely think that is it something good, over time there has to be some type of group of people out there that appreciate what you do.

If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?

To anyone that’s supported me throughout the years, especially close friends and those who have reached out to me, I’m super grateful for all of yall. One thing that I’m pretty good at is remembering random details from years ago, so even one day if I hopefully blow up, be sure I’ll definitely remember those who supported me from the very start.

What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?

I actually have a lot of projects planned to release soon. Probably, the soonest will be my first original song featuring another vocalist, and I’m super excited with how that’s going so far. I also have a lot of other collabs planned throughout 2022, so stay tuned by following my insta @anytroopss or twitter @anytroops!
