Music Interview: Zsüd delves on her creative tastes, being inspired by Dave Grohl & debut album “Zsüd”

Great to have you on Xttrawave. Please, introduce yourself.
Great to be here! I am Zsüd (this is a nickname of mine), I am a Budapest based music producer, singer-songwriter.
What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?
As a kid I studied classical piano and music theory, but after that I went to technical university to get a degree in Environmental Engineering. In the last semester of my masters one of my teachers told me about a school where they teach music production (how can you do everything by yourself and not get limited by only one instrument) and I applied without a thought. I got completely sucked in by this world since then.
Tell us about your new music? And what’s the story behind it?
REWIRING is my first album ever. It is kind of like a distillation of a diary – you can find all kinds of thoughts in it, love, the absence of it or random philosophical questions like is there time really?
What makes your music unique? And how would you describe it?
If I have to be short, I would say it is electro-pop, however it goes on quite a wide range from electronica to indie with some cinematic elements. Prepare for a journey!
Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?
I would sell a kidney for a collaboration with Dave Grohl any time… So Dave, if you are reading this, dm me!
Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?
The most memorable moments for me are the ones when I break the limits I thought I had. These are usually not fancy ones with a big crowd, but rather in the middle of a night when I am working on a song. Or directing my videos for the first time was one of these moments as well.
How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?
Luckily my work is also music related and as I am my own boss it is feasible to switch between the different projects. Also what I am most thankful for is to be surrounded with amazing people as colleagues and friends. If you are in a community where people focus on the solutions instead of the problem, that is a game changer.
What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
Do if you cannot not do it. And do not be afraid to make hard choices.
If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?
Don’t forget that you are enough.
What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?
There will be some exciting collaborations and remixes soon, although I cannot say any specifics yet. Join the tribe on socials so I can keep you guys updated!
